Rookie Division
Requirements
CNLL’s Rookie Division consists of league-age 5 & 6-year-old kids. This division is pure instructional baseball where fundamentals and techniques are taught. This is not a competitive division and at this level, players begin to hit and field the ball. The ball is placed on a tee to allow the child to learn the proper technique of hitting as well as running the bases. If the defense makes a play to get a runner out, that runner is removed from the bases, but outs are not recorded for the defense. All players bat every inning, and the score is not kept. As children progress through the season, coach pitch (from a knee) may be added. There is no post-season play for this division.
