Cookie & Consent Policy
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on www.chandlernational.com (the "Site"), and exactly how your consent works. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
The short version: the Site works without collecting anything optional. Nothing optional runs until you press Accept. Pressing Reject, or closing the banner with the X, means optional collection stays off, and the Site works exactly the same. You can change your choice anytime with the Cookie Settings link in the footer. We have no advertising or marketing cookies at all.
1. How consent works on this Site
When you first visit, a consent banner appears. It gives you three equally easy choices:
| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Accept | Optional analytics is enabled. Your choice is remembered. |
| Reject | Optional analytics stays disabled. Your choice is remembered. |
| X (close) | Treated exactly like Reject. |
- Optional technologies are never loaded before you accept: not "loaded but paused," simply not present.
- Both buttons are presented with equal prominence. There are no pre-ticked boxes, no dark patterns, and no penalty for declining.
- Your choice is stored in a small consent cookie (this cookie is strictly necessary; it exists to honor your decision) along with a timestamp and the version of the notice you saw.
- You can review or change your choice at any time: Cookie Settings in the Site footer reopens the banner.
- Consent is re-requested if our practices or this policy materially change (a new version number).
- Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track (DNT): if your browser sends either signal, we automatically treat your visit as Reject for all optional collection, with no banner interaction needed. (You may still press Accept to opt in, which overrides the signal for this Site only.)
- Using the Site remains subject to our Terms of Use regardless of your cookie choice; cookie consent and Terms acceptance are separate things, and the banner links to both.
2. The complete cookie table
Strictly necessary (always active, the Site cannot function without them)
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
cnll_consent |
CNLL (first-party) | Stores your Accept/Reject choice, timestamp, and policy version so we can honor it | 12 months |
payload-token |
CNLL (first-party) | League HQ board sign-in (only set when a board volunteer logs in; SameSite=Lax, Secure, HttpOnly) | 2 hours |
| Security & load-balancing cookies | Our hosting provider (first-party context) | Protect against attacks; route traffic | Session |
Analytics (loaded ONLY after you press Accept)
None today. The Site currently ships with its analytics slot empty: there is no analytics product on any page, so nothing loads whichever button you press. The product the board has selected for later is cookieless — it would set no cookie and store nothing in your browser — and it would still run only after you press Accept. If we ever adopt a provider that does set a cookie, it will be listed in the table above and the version number of this notice will change, so you are asked again.
Functional preferences (first-party, non-tracking)
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
cnll_theme |
CNLL | Remembers light/dark display preference | 12 months |
Browser storage (not cookies, and never sent to us)
The Site also remembers a handful of your own choices in your browser's local storage and session storage. These are not cookies: they are never attached to a request, so they never reach our server or anyone else's. None of them holds a name, an email, an account, or any identifier — only the setting shown here. Clearing site data in your browser removes all of them, and the Site works the same without them (in private-browsing modes that block storage outright, nothing is remembered and every feature still works).

Marketing / advertising / targeting
None. The Site sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, embeds no ad networks, and never will while operated under Little League data policies. Pages featuring player imagery additionally carry no third-party analytics regardless of consent state, consistent with COPPA's limits on persistent identifiers.
3. Embedded third-party content
None. No page on this Site embeds content from another company: no third-party widgets, no videos, no map frames, no social media widgets. Nothing outside the Site can set a cookie or watch your visit from our pages, and the Site's content-security policy permits scripts, images, fonts, and network connections from our own address only.
Field directions are plain links. The address is printed on the page, and the Open in Google Maps and Open in Apple Maps buttons hand off to the maps app on your own device — nothing from either service loads while you are still on our page. Weather and field-status notices are fetched by our server, not by your browser.
If the League ever adds an embed — a standings widget or a game video, for example — it will load only as a click-to-activate placeholder, this section will name the service and link to its policy, and the version number of this notice will change so your consent is asked again.
4. Managing cookies in your browser
You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings (all major browsers allow this per-site). Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break League HQ sign-in. Instructions: Chrome · Safari · Firefox · Edge
